Why measure ABI?

The ABI is an indicator of Peripheral Arterial Disease (PAD), a cardiovascular disease with a high mortality rate.

Unfortunately, the ABI is not measured routinely because its traditional measuring with Doppler ultrasound is long and complex.

Early PAD detection is vital for these reasons:

MESI solutions enable the measurement of the Ankle-Brachial Index in 1 minute.

Quick and easy Ankle-Brachial Index

Compared to the handheld Doppler probe, the MESI ABPI MD performs an ABI measurement automatically in one minute.

A facelift for an icon

Our first innovation, the MESI ABPI MD, has ruled its segment for a decade. It is time to celebrate with a brand new edition. The new MESI ABPI MD fits seamlessly into a modern medical practice while staying true to its basic ease-of-use roots.

  • Compared to the handheld Doppler probe, the MESI ABPI MD performs an ABI measurement automatically in one minute
  • Unique error detection system without false results, elimination of blood pressure drift error and design of the cuffs all contribute to accurate results
  • Identifying the right patients, determining the safe level of compression and improving their long-term outcomes has never been easier
  • PADsense™ algorithm for detection of severe Peripheral Arterial Disease
  • 3CUFF™ technology permits simultaneous measurement
  • 1-minute, easy and reliable ABI measurement with pulse waveform interpretation

How to use it?

Perform this simple measurement in 3 steps

Place the cuffs on the arms and ankles

Press the START button for the measurement to begin

Analyse the pulse waveforms and read the ABI result
MESI Results – Store and analyse results on your computer and print them out anytime
  • MESI ABPI MD can be connected to a computer to provide an electronic copy or a printout of the ABI result with MESIresults software
  • The software with the updates comes free with the device
  • It enables information such as name, address and logo of the healthcare institution to be included on every measurement report

MESI Accessories

Maximum portability and secure placement on the stand

The stand provides a flat and stable surface for the device and safe storage for the cuffs and other accessories.

The physical lock ensures stability of the device, while the round basket is intended for the cuffs.

Replacements and different sizes of MESI ABPI MD cuffs

The basic package includes four differently coloured cuffs in size M for placement on the upper arms and both legs.

L size cuffs accommodate patients with larger limb circumference. A combination of cuff sizes can be used to ensure the best possible fit.
